ある場所に根ざした歴史や記憶、日々の営みのなかで形づくられてきた関係に関心を持ち、そこで語られにくい出来事や人々の声を汲み取りながら、観察し、読み取り、関係を結び直していく過程を作品としてきました。
本展では、小さな断片を手がかりに「境界」や「移動」を起点とし、ナラティブのまなざしを通じて世界と接続し、編み直していく試みを提示します。

〈展覧会情報〉
monade contemporary | 単子現代では、下浦萌香による個展「境界をわたすひとかけら | A Crossing-Boundaries Fragment」を開催します。
下浦はこれまで、場所に根ざした歴史や記憶、日々の営みのなかで形づくられてきた関係性に目を向けながら制作活動を行ってきました。アーティスト・ラン・スペース「デラハジリ」の運営や日本各地での滞在制作をとおして出会ってきた人々との触れ合いとその記憶は、作品を織りなすかたちや色彩のなかで解かれ、その後に訪れるであろう景色の予感とともに編み直されるかのようです。
本展では、近年のリサーチ活動から着想を得た一連の作品群を紹介し、下浦が「境界」や「移動」において見出してきたものごとや生活のモチーフを一つの制作活動というプロセスのなかで捉えます。淡く移ろいながらも確かな存在感を湛えた紙片がその場所で起こった出来事や歴史を感じさせるモチーフと重なるとき、小さな断片としての作品は来たるべき新たな世界の可能性をやさしく紡ぎ直すことになります。
移動の途上で起こる出来事や風景の移り変わりが小さな断片のなかで積み重なるとき、どのような世界が現れることになるのでしょうか。人や場所からの触発において開かれる、境界の原野にご参加ください。
下浦萌香（Moeka Shimoura）
ある場所に根ざした歴史や記憶、日々の営みのなかで形づくられてきた関係性に関心を持ち、そうした蓄積を出発点に、制作を行っている。2021年より大阪府藤井寺市・土師ノ里エリアにて、アーティスト・ラン・スペース「デラハジリ」の運営を開始。滞在制作や地域との協働、リサーチを通じて、芸術が日常のなかで息づく在り方を探っている。

My practice has been rooted in an interest in the histories, memories, and relationships formed within specific places, and I have created works through the process of listening to, observing, and interpreting events that are difficult to articulate and the voices of the people living there, while reconfiguring these relationships.
In this exhibition, I present an attempt to connect with and reweave the world through a narrative gaze, using small fragments as clues and taking “boundaries” and “journeys” as points of departure.

monade contemporary | 単子現代 is pleased to present “A Crossing-Boundaries Fragment”, a solo exhibition by Moeka Shimoura.
Shimoura has developed her practice by focusing on the histories, memories, and relationships formed within specific places and through everyday life. Memories of encounters and shared experiences with people — met through running the artist-run space Derahajiri and through residencies across Japan — unfold within her works in the forms of texture, color, and gesture, reconfigure premonitions of landscapes that are yet to come.
In this exhibition, a series of works inspired by her recent research will be presented. Shimoura explores motifs of everyday life and phenomena she has discovered through “boundaries” and “journeys,” situating them within the ongoing process of artistic creation. When delicate, transient fragments of paper overlap with motifs evoking the histories and events of a given place, each small fragment gently reweaves new possibilities of the world to come.
What kind of world might emerge when moments and shifting landscapes encountered along the way accumulate within these small fragments? Please participate in the field of boundaries that are opened by encounters between people and places.
Moeka Shimoura
Moeka Shimoura focuses on relationships rooted and shaped by histories, memories, and everyday practices in specific places. Taking these accumulations as a starting point, she develops her artistic practice. Since 2021, she has been running Derahajiri, an artist-run space in the Hajinosato area of Fujiidera City, Osaka Prefecture. Through artist-in-residence programs, collaborations with local communities, and ongoing research, she explores ways in which art can breathe within everyday life.
