「Open Continuum（開かれた連続体）」は、油彩画、ドローイング、コラージュ、エッチングから制作されたプリント作品と、本展のために制作したサウンド・インスタレーションによって構成されています。これらの作品は、視覚的実践と作曲的実践とのあいだで継続的に交わされてきた対話を映し出しており、共有された時間的プロセスのなかで、複数のアイデアが並行して展開していく様相を示しています。
私の視覚的・作曲上のプロセスは、密接に結びついています。私は蓄積、反復、侵食、そして緩やかな変容を通じて制作を行っています。イメージの制作ではリズム、密度、調和、沈黙への注意を払い、作曲では色彩、質感、空間、物質的な存在感に対する関心をもって取り組んでいます。こうしたアプローチは相互に作用し、一つのメディウムで培われた方法が別のメディウムで再現されることを可能にしています。
私の作品の多くは、動物的、環境的、人工的、あるいは思弁的な知覚様式を含む、非人間的な視点への関心によってかたちづくられています。人間中心主義の外部に位置する立場から制作を行うとき、受け継がれてきた制作のあり方は次第に緩み、システムや素材、時間そのものがより能動的な役割をもちはじめるのです。

monade contemporary | 単子現代では、Ebe Okeによる個展「Open Continuum | 開かれた連続体」を開催します。
Ebeはこれまで、音、イメージ、パフォーマンスを通じて、人間と非人間の知覚のあいだにある多孔的な境界を探究しながら、動植物の生命活動に見られる振る舞いや、機械、鳥のさえずりがもつ音調的な言語から、異なる種やシステムを横断するコミュニケーションを再想像してきました。
本展では、油彩画、ドローイングのプリント作品、および新作となるサウンド作品とともに、種やシステムを横断しながらアイデンティティ、アクセス、インクルージョンを規定する構造を検討し、そこから浮かび上がる共鳴や情動的な痕跡をたどります。
人が他者や環境に対して開かれた存在となるとき、人々はどのようにものごとを感覚し、共感し、他なるものへと変容することになるのでしょうか。情動の流れのなかで光輝を放つ、新しい生命体の饗宴にご参加ください。
Ebe Oke（イブ・オーク）
作曲家、画家、学際的アーティストであり、音、イメージ、パフォーマンスを通じて、人間と非人間の知覚の間にある多孔的な境界を探究している。自己主導的かつ探索的な学びを通じて形成されたEbeの実践は、カールハインツ・シュトックハウゼンによる作曲指導をはじめ、AAブロンソン、ブライアン・イーノ、ローリー・アンダーソンらとのメンタリングやコラボレーションを通して発展してきた。これまでに、テート・セント・アイヴス、ロンドンのサーペンタイン・ギャラリー、ニューヨークのThe KitchenおよびPioneer Works、ノルウェーのPunkt Festival、スイスのアート・バーゼル、東京のDOMMUNEなどで国際的に作品を発表しているほか、カイロのバイオジオメトリー研究所内ミュージアム・オブ・コンシャスネスやオックスフォード大学との協働も行っている。

Open Continuum brings together prints made from my oil paintings, drawings, collages, and etchings, alongside a sound installation composed for the exhibition. The works reflect an ongoing dialogue between my visual and compositional practices, where ideas evolve in parallel through shared temporal processes.
My visual and compositional processes are closely related. I work through accumulation, repetition, erosion, and slow transformation. I approach image-making with an attention to rhythm, density, harmony and silence, and I approach composition with a sensitivity to colour, texture, space, and material presence. These approaches inform one another, allowing methods developed in one medium to reappear in another.
Much of my work is shaped by an interest in non-human perspectives, including animal, environmental, artificial, and speculative modes of perception. When I work from positions that sit outside the human centre, inherited ways of making begin to loosen, allowing systems, materials, and time to take on a more active role.

monade contemporary | 単子現代 is pleased to present Open Continuum, a solo exhibition by Ebe Oke.
Through sound, image, and performance, Ebe has long explored the porous boundary between human and non-human perception. Drawing on the behaviours observable in animal and plant life, as well as the tonal languages of machines and birdsong, their practice reimagines forms of communication that move across different species and systems.
In this exhibition, together with printed works based on oil paintings, drawings, and a newly created sound work, the artist’s practice examines the structures that shape identity, access, and inclusion across species and systems, bringing into view the resonances and affective traces that emerge from them.
When humans become open to others and to their environments, how do ways of sensing, empathising, and transforming toward alterity begin to shift? We invite you to join this gathering of emergent forms of life, shimmering in the flow of affect.
Ebe Oke
A composer, painter, and interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the porous boundary between human and non-human perception through sound, image, and performance. Evolving through a self-directed and exploratory education, Ebe’s practice has developed through composition lessons with Karlheinz Stockhausen and mentorships and collaborations with artists such as AA Bronson, Brian Eno, and Laurie Anderson. Their work has been presented internationally at venues including Tate St Ives, the Serpentine Gallery in London, The Kitchen and Pioneer Works in New York, Punkt Festival in Norway, Art Basel in Switzerland, Dommune in Tokyo, and in collaboration with the Museum of Consciousness at the Biogeometry Institute in Cairo and Oxford University.
