〈展覧会情報〉
「あなたの依所は、何ですか。あなたが安心して身を寄せられる安住の地は、どこに在りますか」という一節は、南禅寺の法話「牡丹に唐獅子 竹に虎」を出典とする。獅子は、百獣に君臨する王と思われているが、その無敵の獅子には一つ恐れるものがある。それは、獅子の体内で増殖し、皮を破り肉に食らいつく害虫である。しかし、この害虫は牡丹の花から滴り落ちる夜露に当たると死んでしまうという。獅子は牡丹の花の下で休むことができるようになり、そこが獅子にとっての安住の地となる。
今回の展示では、作家の梁棱楓（リョウ・ロウホウ）はフェルトという柔らかい材料を媒介として、京都の寺院にある石獅子と牡丹のイメージを再現する。獅子は安住の地を見つけつつあり、牡丹がその象徴になっている。獅子の心の中の安住の地への想いは、実体化しつつあるかのようにも見える。

〈Exhibition Information〉
“What is your asylum? Where is your haven that you can safely hide yourself in?” The passage comes from the Nanzenji Dharma story “Lions and Tigers in Peony and Bamboo.” The lion is considered the reigning king of beasts, but the invincible lion has one thing to fear: vermin that grows inside the lion’s body, breaking through the skin and feeding on the flesh. However, this vermin is said to die when exposed to the night dew that drips from the peony flower. The lion can rest under the peony flower, and then finds a haven there.
In this exhibition, the artist Lingfeng Liang uses felt, a soft material, as a medium to recreate images of stone lions and peonies in Kyoto’s temples. The lion is finding a peaceful home, and the peony is its symbol. The lion’s desire for asylum is now being materialized.
